The design and implementation of this website are based on the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This ensures that we meet the requirements of the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG), which regulates digital accessibility in Germany.

Below you will find an overview of the accessibility measures taken on this website:

Structure & Orientation

• Heading Structure: The website is logically structured with main and subheadings.
• Landmarks / Skip-Links: Important areas of the page such as the main content and footer are marked as landmarks that can be skipped to via a link when entering a page.

Keyboard Navigation

• Clear Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are reachable with the Tab key, and the focus order follows a logical structure. You can navigate to the previous element using the Shift-Tab key combination.
• Clear Focus Visibility: The keyboard focus is indicated by a visible highlight. Care has been taken to ensure that this highlight is clearly visible on any background.

Screen Reader Compatibility

• Semantic HTML Structure: Headings, lists, and other content are correctly and semantically marked up.
• ARIA Attributes: Appropriate ARIA roles and attributes are used to support interaction with screen readers.

Controls

• Minimum Height: On mobile devices or displays with limited width, all buttons and menu lists are enlarged to the recommended minimum height of 44px.

Color Scheme, Contrasts, Animations

• Sufficient Color Contrast: The color scheme meets the recommended contrast values (WCAG 2.1, Level AA) for text and graphical elements, which improves readability for people with visual impairments.
• Animated Elements: The user’s system settings are taken into account. Animated elements are reduced or turned off completely.

Forms

• Labels + Input Fields: Form elements are provided with meaningful labels that are technically correctly associated.
• Feedback and Error Messages: Users receive clear and understandable notifications for incorrect or missing input, which are also recognized by assistive technologies.

Responsive Design

• Optimized for Different Device Classes: The website adapts flexibly to desktops, tablets, and smartphones. While the display and interaction are optimized for specific devices, the functions remain equally accessible and usable on all devices.

Readability & Understandability

• Language Marking: The main language of the website is technically correctly declared.
• Adjustable Text Size: Users can change the text size via their browser settings without the website becoming unusable.

Media

• Alternative Text Descriptions: Descriptive alternative texts (ALT texts) are provided for all relevant images and graphics.
• No Unwanted Auto-Play: Media with sound do not start automatically without user input.

PDF manuals

In addition to the printed instructions, we also offer our customers the option of downloading them as a PDF from our website. This service is to be understood as a voluntary, supplementary service offer and the effort involved in transferring all instructions into an accessible format would exceed our capacities. Should there be any accessibility-related restrictions when handling the PDFs, our service is available to our customers. Contact options are shown on the website.
